Diary of Indigo Tears is an all age collection of poetry, prose and excerpts about love, depression and the struggles of a teen going into womanhood, teaching acceptance and self-preservation. The book includes illustrations and consists of 5 chapters, "Before the Rain, Getting Wet, Cloudy Days, Gray Skies and After the Rain" which tells the story of young girl struggling to cope with being in love with a man who is conflicted by two lovers. The opening chapter depicts her story of meeting love to realizing how her perception of love had been so wrong. The chapter titles helps the reader to focus on the different parts of the writer's life, from the days she met love and it was blissful (before the rain) to getting hurt and discovering self-love and learning to let go (after the rain) The book not only targets the broken and lonely but also the black community with the intention of uplifting black women and encouraging self-love, written for colored girls who consider suicide when the rainbow is enough.
