Black Seeds: The Poetry and Reflections of Tariq Toure

"Tariq Tour is Baltimore's Black revolutionary voice. In the tradition of Amiri Baraka and James Baldwin, Tour masterfully uses his pen to attack white supremacy, expose systemic racism, and highlight the beauty that is the Black community. Tour doesn't hide behind his own articles, academia, social media or fake non profits-- no, Toure is one of the few real ones, he's in the street fighting for us, living what he pens and using a cocktail of activism and art to make the world a better place for all of us. Tariq Tour is our revolutionary voice and we are beyond proud of the way that he is representing us." D. Watkins, Author of "The Beastside: Living and Dying while Black in America" Tariq Tour has combined remnants of a childhood in West Baltimore, maturation and rhythm in a concisely riveting collection of poems. Along with the photography of Shannon Wallace and Kyle Pompey Tour grabs takes the reader on a walk through Baltimore and his deepest experiences.
