Dr. Lawson Bush, V/Nana Kweku Baakan is Professor/ Director of the CSULA/UCI Joint Ed.D. Program in Urban Educational Leadership. In addition to his book entitled Can Black Mothers Raise Our Sons? he has published over 25 articles addressing Black educational history and Black male developmental issues. Rev. Dr. Edward C. Bush is the Vice President of Student Services for Riverside Community College. He has over 14 years of experience in higher education involving the recruitment, retention and educational success of African American student. Dr. Kennon Mitchell is currently an Assistant Super-intendent of Student Services for the San Bernardino City Unified School District. As principal, Dr. Mitchell developed the MAAT Academy, an African-centered after school intervention program targeting at-risk African American male students. A. Majadi is a native of Detroit, a father of seven, and currently serves as the President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Bernardino. He has more than 20 years experience in community program development, specifi-cally gang prevention and intervention, and is a staunch advocate for education. Dr. Salin Faraji is an Associate Professor of Africana Studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
