About the Author
Andrew 'Tuggstar' Togobo is a graduate of History and International Politics (BA hons) at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. After graduating, he went on to publish numerous articles as a freelance journalist in both Untold & New African magazine, eventually becoming a regular columnist for British Black newspaper New Nation. In 2001 he moved to Toronto, Canada for a year, it was there he began to take performance poetry seriously. He arrived back in the UK as an internationally respected poet. After 15 years of doing poetry, he has performed alongside the likes of Dead Prez, Estelle, Amiri Baraka and Linton Kwesi Johnson. He has featured on British Hip hop legends Blak Twang L.P. Speaking from Experience; And opened for former president of Ghana J.J Rawlings. He has been interviewed on numerous media outlets including the BBC, Time Out Magazine, and numerous radio stations across the UK, America, Canada and Ghana. He has published a chapbook called The Way of the Word and to date has two albums The Africa E.P From Here to There and Home Again and Season of Lost Love. He is currently working on his third album Family Ties.
