Compositions & Coffee Presents: "Creative Soul Digest"

It’s A Vibe Friday

It’s FRIDAY family! You can’t see it but I’m currently doing my Fri-YAY dance! Haha!

Another week down in the history books, I hope all of you are feeling good and walking into the weekend with gratitude and peace. Friday has been devoted to VIBES and music, this week is no different. When envisioning this Friday, I caught myself getting stuck because….what do kids even listen to? Then, it dawned on me…what does my kid listen to? Whatever I’m listening to of course and I listen to almost every genre. I did some digging to see what people recommend exposing your kiddo’s to and found a few cool articles with recommendations. I’ll give you the link with their playlist and finish off with my own recommendations before sending you on your way. Take a look…

Recommended Playlist

The Longest Shortest Time had a blog post in 2014 with 11 songs you should play before your child’s 5, and I’m here for it. My first exposure to music was jazz and gospel, then R&B, then Rock. 2 of my son’s favorite songs are Thunder by Imagine Dragons and Drop of Jupiter (Tell Me) by Train so it was nothing to put on this playlist. Here it is:

Super fun list to expose them to different instruments and sounds.

Here’s a list for younger kids courtesy of TimeOut:

You can also just throw on Disney Music anytime or jam a few of your favorite Disney tracks in there. I belt out Into the Unknown at least twice a month.

There’s plenty more, so, check out the article for some additional tunes. The **’s are my son’s personal faves. We also had an obsession with VeggieTales Silly Songs for a long time. Next up, my own personal favorites and something for the older kids.

I hope these list will get you through some car rides and get your kids jammin!

I’m always adding to ours. Let me know what I missed and share some of your favorites.

The recommendations are waiting for you so don’t miss out.

Enjoy your weekend and I hope your Back to School week runs smoothly!
