Compositions & Coffee Presents: "Creative Soul Digest"

What’s Brewing With You?

Hello and welcome back to What’s Brewing With You Tuesday! I have been feeling ice coffee and iced latte’s this week since Illinois jumped to 80-90 degree weather over the past week (YAY FOR SUMMER). I’m picky with my ice coffee though y’all so it ultimately looks life an iced cappuccino when I’m done. I’ll share a pic with you in the comments when I make it (most likely later today). Let me know what your favorite iced coffee beverage is maybe it’s something I can teach y’all how to make at home.

Now that it’s heating up folks I know you don’t want to be standing over the hot stove or using that hot oven for family meals. I honestly feel that unless you plan to BBQ there’s no reason those 2 should be used when it’s 90+. With that said this week’s WBWY is all about easy meals with new cooking methods like the Instant Pot and Air Fryer.

Instant Pot

I was not hip to this craze until I was gifted one and looked at the menu book that it came with. I was shocked by the variety and range of items I could cook in half the time it took me to cook the same meal on the stove. I don’t know what I would do some days without it because I can make the simplest meal like spaghetti or baked chicken all the way up to shrimp scampi and ribs. The magic of the pot is in the 'ease of variety'. I have a few fun faves down below for you:

Let me know which ones you’ve tried and ones that are your families go to’s. I’ve got a link below to where you can get your Instant Pot and which is best for you.

Air Fryer

I didn’t know how amazing this thing was until Super Bowl folks and……BOOM GAME CHANGER! 5 different flavors of chicken wings and 3 batches of fries honestly the best I’ve ever made and a true crowd pleaser. Now I’m not Buffalo Wild Wings or Wing Stop but let me just say I was on the list after them bad boys. Ha!

Seriously though it eliminates much of what you would do in your oven with the right size fryer. I fry just about everything in there veggies, egg rolls, chicken, even donuts. The possibilities are endless with the right recipe and right size fryer. If you are cooking for 1-2 people you can get away with a small 3 quart but the bigger the better I say.

Here’s some of my favorite recipes in the fryer:

There are also some all-in-one’s now that give you the air fryer and instant pot function in one machine. Here’s a few:

Give me your feedback on the all-in-one’s I haven’t had a chance to test them yet but my mom and sister-in-law now have one so I’m gonna get in there. Now we just need an all in one cleaning system ladies and we’d be set. I’ll work on creating that for us….haha

Alright loved one’s that’s WBWYT let me know what recipes you tried or some of your faves in the Instant Pot or Air Fryer. Also don’t forget to share your favorite iced coffee beverage so we can talk coffee for the summer. Check out the recommendations below and be back tomorrow so I can give y’all a jams list to bump to.
